Quo vadis? To hell in a handcart 3

The Right Wing of the Catholic Church (and how depressing it is to use that phrase knowing that everyone will understand what I mean) will be digging in deeper and deeper. Already frightened beyond continence by the present pontiff, they will now feel, with the huge uncontrollable sea changes in society that are taking place, that the end times are upon us. They will feel that the chief destroyer of the Church, Pope Francis I, is the man they need to nail. It wouldn't surprise me if an attempt was made on his life very soon, that is, an assassination attempt. It would be justified, in the twisted minds of those who would welcome such a thing, by the levels of fear being experienced throughout 'the old curia', their adherents, supporters and emotionally allied. It is somewhat cheering to be able to use the phrase 'the old curia' and know that everyone will understand it, apart from those, of course, who will never allow themselves to understand it as a decision of intent.
The levels of fear, distress and rejection are so extreme that lies are told widely, whispers are doubled in force, behind-the-hand plots and measures of sabotage are already being hatched. The Church will need to keep a very cool head in these extreme times.
But how do I know this is happening? How can I say this is already happening now? I cannot possibly say such a thing. I say it because it is completely obvious. Without knowing anything at all about the personalities or the individuals involved, one can judge by the creature as a whole, and, of course, by history. What I have described is what happens in circumstances like this. Corporately the rats will feel cornered. More so every day. How do cornered rats react? There is your answer.
If I was a betting man, which I am not, I wouldn't put it past devious and sadly psychologically disturbed adherents of the old curia around the globe, from trying to make Covid-19 do their dirty work for them. They would see it as fitting. I do hope supporters of the Pope are taking proper precautions.
Far-fetched? That's what they said about Covid-19 becoming a pandemic.
